XERORP RULEBOOK

Server Rules & Guidelines

Please read all rules carefully before roleplaying. Breaking these rules can lead to punishments including bans.

Last updated: May 2026

Community rules, faction standards, and in-city roleplay reference for all XeroRP players and staff.

Section 1 — General Information

1. Staff Disrespect

Any kind of staff disrespect is not tolerated within the community. If you are caught disrespecting staff, you may be banned from the server and Discord.

Impersonation of any staff members will result in a permanent ban from the server and Discord.

2. Rules

Selling in-game money or items for real-life money is not allowed and is a permanent ban with no chance of appealing.

Steam and Discord accounts must be over 30 days old to join the server.

If you are streaming or recording and a staff member is talking to you in a call, please put your stream in interventions and end your recording out of respect for you and our staff team.

If someone is breaking a rule in the city, please make a clip of the situation and send a ticket in for staff to handle. You can also use T /report in the city. Do not mod your own scenes.

Slurs or hate speech are not tolerated in the city. This includes offensive and derogatory terms, including but not limited to: homophobic comments, transphobic comments, racist comments, racist slurs, and similar language.

You may not use names or personas that impersonate real staff, faction leadership, or other protected community figures without written approval from XeroRP Staff. Staff may request a character name change if a name conflicts with community standards.

Section 2 — Community Conduct

1. Metagaming

You cannot use any information obtained outside of character within roleplay to create interactions, scenes, and/or events. This includes information from third-party platforms such as:

  • Discord
  • Twitch, Kick, TikTok, YouTube, or other live streams
  • Social media DMs or posts about in-city events

2. Combat Logging

If you are in a scene, you cannot use F8 (or equivalent disconnect methods) to exit and avoid RP consequences.

Combat logging to avoid consequences will not be tolerated and may result in a ban.

3. Server Restart

20 minutes before and after a server restart, you cannot begin any heist, drug run, or interaction that can result in retaliation or follow-up from other parties.

Using a crash to your advantage in roleplay is not tolerated. Post a screenshot of your crash report in the Discord #game-crashes channel (do not upload zip files there).

You must return to the scene immediately if your game crashed to conclude the scene. Refusing to continue after reconnecting, or hiding items and then resuming without proper RP, may be treated as combat logging.

Server restart times (PST): 3:00 AM & 3:00 PM (confirm current schedule in Discord announcements)

4. Powergaming

You cannot abuse or take advantage of game mechanics, bugs, or unintended features. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Using escort to place individuals where EMS cannot reach them, or into walls/voids
  • Carrying multiple people at once (including chain-carry methods) — one person at a time only
  • Storing or pulling out a vehicle from a garage during an active vehicle pursuit
  • Running into your house during an active interaction to avoid consequences
  • Talking or organizing while on side or dead
  • Transferring money, vehicles, or MLOs from one character to another
  • Escorting, carrying, or piggybacking on motorcycles or other restricted vehicles

5. Value of Life (VOL)

Your character must fear for their life when endangered.

If you have a gun pointed at you, listen to demands.

If you did not have your gun out before they aimed at you, you must comply.

You cannot pull a weapon when you already have a gun to your head (or equivalent threat).

6. Permanent Death Rule

No one can force a permanent death on any character. If you perma-kill your character, you must delete them from the selection screen. Breaches may result in staff deleting the character.

Character kills (CK) must be agreed upon by both parties involved.

Exceptions where staff may enforce CK policy:

  • Confidential information obtained through roleplay (per staff ruling)
  • Approved hitman RP (when enabled by XeroRP — check Discord announcements)

7. New Life Rule (NLR)

If you are killed in a scene or interaction, you must forget everything that took place in the 10 minutes prior once you are flatlined / respawned.

8. Random Death Match (RDM)

All interactions must have hostile intent or buildup before anyone is injured or harmed.

You cannot walk up and shoot someone without roleplay behind it.

You cannot kill anyone without a valid in-character reason (e.g., shooting Alta civilians because they ignored you).

9. Vehicle Death Match (VDM)

The following may be treated as low-quality RP and VDM:

  • Excessively running someone over
  • Intentionally running over someone with no prior interaction or hostile intent
  • Crown surfing or “bowling pin” behavior with vehicles

10. Civilian Jobs

Anyone conducting a civilian job cannot be harmed, robbed, or taken hostage. Using a job location only to avoid RP consequences is powergaming and against the rules.

11. General Robbing

You cannot rob someone if you had no scene with them (e.g., robbing a random body on the road with no RP).

No pocket wipes: do not steal phones, food, drinks, radios, IDs, etc., unless rules and scene context allow (check staff announcements).

You cannot rob trunks or players in parking lots attached to garages (per server config).

Gang stashes, MLOs, houses, etc. may be robbed — be careful who you give keys to.

Businesses may be robbed; expect PD and/or local factions to respond in-character.

12. Emergency Service Members

Police may be taken hostage; PD may use any means necessary to rescue their officer.

EMS may be taken from their job but are generally limited to 15 minutes depending on the scene.

You may only rob armor and magazines from officers — nothing registered to PD.

Telling an officer how to police or that they “don’t know codes” is low-quality RP. Stay in character even if you disagree with the scene.

Stealing PD vehicles only when the scene logically supports it.

Maximum prison sentence: 250 months (in-city time).

Faction leaders/members may only hold one primary law-enforcement role within PD (per faction policy).

Section 3 — Inappropriate Conduct

1. OOC Targeting / OOC Toxicity

Everything that happens in the city must stay in the city. You may not take IC events OOC to harass others, including:

  • Repeatedly contacting someone to bother, insult, or harass them
  • Influencing others against someone with malicious intent

DMing about in-city events on Discord, streams, Instagram, etc.

Violations may result in a ban; severe cases may be permanent.

2. Harassment

Harassment in any form is not allowed in or out of the city. Depending on severity, punishment ranges from ban to permanent ban with no warning. Examples:

  • Killing someone repeatedly because you dislike them OOC
  • Stalking with no intent to RP
  • Slurs or derogatory language (permanent ban, no exceptions)
  • OOC harassment via messages
  • Sexual harassment without consent — remarks, acts, noises, etc. (permanent ban)
  • Sexual harassment outside the city (permanent ban)
  • Targeting someone in a live stream chat over an in-city scene

3. Excessive Toxicity

Not allowed. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Mag dumping bodies for sport
  • Running over bodies as a display
  • Teabagging, dancing, or emoting on downed players without RP reason
  • Driving around with carried bodies without necessity
  • Posting photos of dead bodies on in-city Twitter/social without RP justification
  • Full pocket robberies (phone, ID, etc.) without sensible RP
  • Ocean dumping
  • Wiping another player’s vehicle upgrades/mods

4. Dark Roleplay

Dark RP requires OOC consent before the scene. If someone asks you to stop, you must stop immediately. Includes:

  • Removal of body parts (must be OOC consented)
  • No necrophilia roleplay or suggestive emotes on bodies
  • No suicide roleplay
  • No Erotic Role Play will be tolerated

Section 4 — Dishonest Conduct

1. Exploiting

You may not intentionally use exploits for an unfair advantage. Report exploits via Bug Report tickets. Knowingly exploiting may result in a permanent ban.

2. Modding / Cheating

  • Injectors or modification clients without permission → immediate ban.
  • Associating with known cheaters may result in a ban.

3. Altered Files

Blacklisted or advantage-giving file edits may result in a ban. Examples:

  • Texture packs that remove night, injury status, fog, vegetation, ocean, etc.
  • Shader adjustments that remove visibility obstacles
  • Tracers, kill effects, advantage sound packs
  • Flawless, stretched FOV, sky packs that confer an edge

4. Graphics Packs

Cosmetic packs (e.g., QuantV, ReShade, NVE) may be allowed if they do not grant a competitive advantage. When in doubt, ask staff before installing.

Section 5 — Community Engagement

1. Heists

  • Do not coordinate multiple heists at the same time.
  • Do not interfere with an ongoing heist.
  • No heist/robbery 20 minutes before or after a tsunami (server restart).
  • Do not camp heist locations before the timer ends, including disconnecting in criminal areas to respawn after restart.
  • One hostage and one demand set per heist (unless staff announces otherwise).
  • PD motorcycles on heists only if robbers use motorcycles; PD bikes leave primary once ground vehicles appear.
  • “No Air One” cannot be used as a demand when releasing a hostage.
  • Fake hostages are not allowed — provide quality RP to criminals and PD.

Heist crew sizes and Police Presence (default — confirm in Discord):

Heist Crew size Police Allowed
Petty crime1–24
Store robbery1–35
Vangelico2–48
Fleeca2–48
Yacht3–510
Paleto3–510
Pacific3–612
Humaine3–612
Repository3–612

2. Heist / Scene Interference

You cannot force yourself into scenes you do not belong to:

  • Claimed heists
  • Shootouts you are not part of
  • Police scenes/chases with no involvement

3. Zancudo Military Base

All military vehicles, planes, tanks, etc. from Fort Zancudo are blacklisted. Use may result in a minimum 24-hour ban.

Faction Guidelines

Section 1 — Faction General Info

1. Restricted Locations

Certain map areas may be banned for faction use (e.g., high-traffic civilian hubs). Check #faction-info on Discord for the current list — including any Little Seoul or equivalent restrictions.

2. Becoming a Faction

To become a faction on XeroRP:

  1. Join the official Discord.
  2. Open #create-a-faction under the Faction category.
  3. Complete all required fields (name, colors, identifiers, leadership, etc.).
  4. Verify available colors/identifiers in #current-factions (or equivalent).

Starting roster cap: gangs may launch with up to 12 members when approved.

3. Unapproved Factions

Unapproved groups cannot:

  • Move in numbers greater than 4
  • Wear matching faction clothing/identifiers city-wide
  • Claim a drug or drug location
  • Claim turf/territory
  • Start wars with other groups

4. Bleed Outs / Patch Removal / Member Removal

If you are bled out from a faction:

  • You cannot rejoin that faction.
  • You cannot remember sensitive info (radio channels, codes, stash locations) — you may remember general membership and personal history.
  • Character kills require mutual agreement — no bleed-out CK contracts.
  • Removal cooldown: 1 week before rejoining another faction or retaliating against your old gang. Revenge before cooldown ends is not allowed.

5. Hangarounds, Prospects, Old Ladies

Hangarounds/trial members must be logged with Faction Control and on the roster.

With a full 12 roster, extras (old ladies, girlfriends, hangarounds) cannot push unless on the roster.

Total active roster cannot exceed 12 to bypass limits.

Section 2 — Faction Interactions

1. Civilian & Faction Interactions

Bled-out members may retaliate after cooldown; they may enlist another gang. The old faction may respond only after the bled-out member makes the first move.

Civilians cannot tax drug locations.

Civilians cannot be robbed by a faction unless they are in a hot spot (drug/territory) or provoke the faction.

2. Faction vs Faction

Rooftop shooting is allowed but must stay minimal — not full-roster roof camping.

No KOS unless agreed by both parties and confirmed by Faction Control.

3. Drive-By Interactions

Only MC factions may drive-by on motorcycles (if server rules enable MC drive-bys).

You may pass a block once; on the second pass you may shoot if the other faction is on their block. The defending faction may retaliate without drive-by initiation.

You cannot get out of vehicles during a drive-by.

Hospital locations are off limits for drive-bys.

4. Faction Identifiers

You may take identifiers (kutte, chain, etc.) but must provide a path to get them back. If not returned by server restart, the faction may re-equip identifiers.

All identifier changes must be submitted to Faction Control.

If 6+ members are in city, identifiers stay on unless: active count drops to 4, you are on a heist, or you are actively selling drugs.

XeroRP Wars

All faction wars must be:

  • Approved by Faction Control and senior staff
  • Between approved factions only
  • Live streamed on an approved platform (Twitch, Kick, YouTube, etc.) unless staff grants an exception
  • Participants not streaming when required may be removed from the war.
